What's a .cfg file extension

Question: Im cleaning up my brothers pc hes home for thanksgiving and i wanted to know if its safe to delete a taterbu~.cfg its a game he was playing.

Answer: A .cfg is a generic config file and can be opened with either wordpad or notepad. Its essentually a a file that stores system or application configurations or preferences.

If he is not longer using the application that the folder is in i would first uninstall the program from the control panel, then check and see if the file is still there. If it is you can delete it.

Im sure the file doesnt take up much room however so you may not even want to delete it.

Before you try anything you should think about doing a free scan for .cfg related registry errors. This will ensure your computer is ready to precede.
