Answer: .iso files are Disc Image Files. Say i have an office 2007 cd and i want to save it on my network. I could copy the files in a folder, or i could just use and iso generating software and save it as an iso.

By saving a file as an .iso i can then do a quick burn whenever i want the cd burnt. I dont have to copy the files to the cd folder then burn. Just open the .iso then burn.

That being said you need something to read and write iso files.

The most popular file is Img Burn you can download it at imgburn.com its free at the moment.

Before you try anything you should think about doing a free scan for .iso related registry errors. This will ensure your computer is ready to precede.
