Staffer: Thad | Posted: 01.12.10 Answer: Well weve posted on this before. You can read that post here whatsafile.com/20-bak-extension.html Well the first thing in your case is to figure what type of file it is. A back file can be any file type really. If you had a photo named mypic.jpg you could make it mypic.bak by renaming the file. My suggestions to you are to 1st make sure you can see the file extensions, if you cant there is an article on the right side of our site that will tell you how. Then take a look at where you found the file, if it was on a web server it is most likely an .htm, .html, ,asp. or .php file. If it was on your computer it may be a .zip, .doc, .xls, .ppt, and etc. Once you have an idea as to what file it was originally you can then rename it with that extension. Welll use mypic.bak example again. If you have a file called mypic.bak it suggest that it is a .jpg file you would in this case rename the filr mypic.jpg and then be able to view it as an image. Hope this helps WhatsAFile.com Before you try anything you should think about doing a free scan for .bak related registry errors. This will ensure your computer is ready to precede. |
