Question: My little brother started back to college this last week and already he has a virus/trojan. They are doing some serious file sharing i think. Before I wipe his computer ive been archiving onto a dvd usb external his files. Got his documents, favorites, email from outlook yadda yadda, but scanning back through things im not sure what He has a contact list that is ipd as well as one that is wab. I know the wab is a Web Address Book, but what is a IPD Address book. Ive googled this question to no avail.

Answer: The IPD is for the blackberry. I would be sure to back that up. He does have a blackberry correct?
The ipd is a research in motion proprietary file i believe. You can check out RIM.com for more info on the company.
So back that up if he has a blackberry, or just for the heck of it even if he doesnt, it is possible it belongs to another app.
The bigger thing here is that you have a virus right. If you can get all your files off you are fortunate. Wipe that baby and start over again. Hope this all helps.
Before you try anything you should think about doing a free scan for .ipd related registry errors. This will ensure your computer is ready to precede.
