What's a .doc file extension

Question: I got this report that is a .doc and whenever i open it I cant see the pictures and other graphs my partner sent to me.

Answer: Hey welcome to WhatsAFile.com a .doc is a microsoft office extension. This means you need microsoft office (word to specify) to open this document, and it in all of its glory. You can use notepad, and even better Wordpad but you are still going to miss some format specifications and details.

My suggestion to you is to either buy and install Microsoft Word. Other possible alternatives include requesting the sender to convert the doc to a pdf, and creating a gmail account sending the document to that account and then allow google docs to open the file.
